Henry Parker

Linnen Draper; Embarked 15 June 1733; arrived in the Georgia Colony 29 Aug. 1733.

Lot 111 In Savannah. Made 3rd. Bailif 1734, 2nd Bailif 1736. Lastly appointed 1st Bailif in Mr. Caustons room June 1738, but removed 20 June 1739, for drunkenness, debasing the character of a magistrate, and countenancing the insolent application made to the Trustees for introduing Negros & changing the tenure of lands. He took land some miles up in the country, but has no grant of it. He lives inmate on the Widow Cooper's lot No. 20. But she complains he pays her no rent. 25 March 1740 he was restored to his office of 1st Bailif, having left of drinking.

(There is nothing in the record to indicate that Henry's mother was also Eliz. Smith though that is certainly possible.)
