John Cellier or Sellier

Swiss, bricklayer.

He married the widow of Daniel Thibaut and lives with her on her Lot 39.

He came from Purysburg, turned Methodist, and abandoned cultivation 27 March 1740.

At work at the Orphan House 1741.


Mary

Age 40.

Embarked 6 Nov. 1732; arrived in the Georgia Colony 1 Feb. 1732-3. On the 1st ship load of Georgia colonists, The Charity.

Put in possession of the lot designed her husband 21 Dec. 1733.

She remarried Jo. Cellier of Puryburg 17 March 1734-5 who lives with her on this lot.

Block maker.

Embarked 11 Sept. 1733; arrived in the Georgia Colony 16 Dec. 1733.

Lot 108 in Savannah. Settled at Abercorn which he quitted & in 1736 this lot was granted to him. It is swamp overflowed.

Dead 1738.

Settled at Abercorn.


John Thompson

A riotous fellow & disobedient to the constable 15 June 1737. He quitted and went to Carolina on shutting up the stores Dec. 1738.


Joannes Togler or Torgler

Age 27, farmer, Swiss.

Embarked 29 Sept. 1741; arrived in the Georgia Colony 4 Dec. 1741.

He paid his own passage but not his wife's. Settled on a grant S.E. of Hampstead.

His name is written in the record as Togler while his wife is written as Torgler.

Age 33. Wife of Joannes Torgler, Swiss.

Embarked 29 Sept. 1741; arrived in the Georgia Colony 4 Dec. 1741.

Settled with Joannes, her husband, on a grant S.E. of Hampstead.

Her name is written in the record as Torgler while her husband is listed as Togler.


Anna Togler or Torgler

Age 9 months.

Age 33, farmer, Palatin Tr. servant.

Arrived in the Georgia Colony 20 Dec 1737.

Embarked 28 Dec. 1733; arrived in the Georgia Colony 1 Deb. 1733-4.

Lot 156 in Savannah.

He married the widow Eliz. Herbert servant to Tho. Fawsset 6 Oct. 1735 and lives with her but cultivating nothing.


Elizabeth Herbert

Servant to Tho. Fawset.

Arrived 14 Jan. 1733-4.

Married to Tho. Tripp 6 Oct. 1734.

(The record for Tho. Trip indicates: He married the widow Eliz. Herbert servant to Tho. Fawsset 6 Oct. 1735 and lives with her but cultivating nothing. Does this mean that Eliz. was the wife of Hen. Herbert? The record for Henry does not indicate he was married but women & children were often not listed on ships manifests even when present.)


James Turner

Embarked 15 June 1733; arrived in the Georgia Colony 29 Aug. 1733.

Lot 95 in Savannah.

Quitted 1737.


Richard Turner

Sawyer & carpenter.

Embarked 11 Sept. 1733; arrived in the Georgia Colony 16 Dec. 1733.

Lot 135 in Savannah.

Fined 3.10.0 for defraud in work 27 Sept. 1734.

Also fined 200.0.0 for unlawful imprisonment & devising to get unlawful possession of goods 14 July 1735.

Kept to bail but ran away and cheated his creditors 29 Dec. 1737.

On 11 Jan. he returned and was imprisoned.

In 1739, he shipped himself for the Islands; and his wife lives in open adultery with Mr. Christie, recorder of Savannah.

Run away 29 Dec. 1737.

Quitted to England 1740.

Dead 13 Feb. 1733-4.

Age 48, seaman (notation says "bredd at Sea"; could this mean born at sea?)

Embarked 6 Nov. 1732; arrived in the Georgia Colony 1 Feb. 1732-3. On the 1st ship load of Georgia colonists, The Charity (or in this case, perhaps the Ann at Gravesend).

Lot 25 in Savannah.

Made Naval Officer 7 Oct. 1735.

Dead 1737.

Embarked Aug. 1734; arrived in the Georgia Colony 21 Oct. 1734.

She has a Trust servant allowed her in consideration of her husbands good service.

Embarked Oct. 1737; arrived in the Georgia Colony 20 Dec. 1737.

He married Cath. Fritz at his embarkation Oct. 1738 (should read 1737).

Age 18; I suppose dead before Oct. 1739.

Dead in the passage to the Georgia Colony.
