Tried for killing his servant but by management, was cleared.

Note: I have placed this child with Joseph and Martha as they are the only Burges listed in the document. Her date of birth is based on the the fact that Joseph Burges died in 1740 and the wife of James Baillou died in 1742. I have not found anything to indicate that James Baillou married Margaret and since the child's name is listed as Burges, it would appear that they were not married at that time.

Embarked: 6 Nov. 1732; Arrived in the Georgia Colony: 1 Feb. 1732-3. On the 1st ship load of Georgia colonists, The Charity.

Lot 19 in Savannah.

Recorder of Savannah till made 1st bailif in Henry Parker's room 20 June 1739. But removed 25 March 1740 by letter from the Trustees & likewise suspended from being Recorder till an acct. he has made with the stores be made up. He lives on in open adultery with Turners' wife and is guilty of other faults. Abt. April 1740 he left Georgia, & in June following came for England, where he proposed to stay, but returned. Quitted April 1740 but returned.
