Anthony Hampton
Anthony Hampton (1710-76) was a patriot in Spartanburg County, S. C., who was
killed by the Indians, after he and his three sons had undertaken to secure a
treaty of peace with them. He was born in Virginia.
Patrick Jack
In the war 1812
James Jack
James Jack (1731-1822) was the bearer of the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence
to the Congress at Philadelphia. He commanded a company in the first call for troops
and served with distinction to the close of the war. He was born in Pennsylvania;
died in Elbert County, Ga.
Abia Brown
Abia Brown (1743-85) was a member of the Provincial Congress, 1775-76, of New Jersey,
where he was born and died.
