I have assumed that the W. W. & William W. are the same individual though it is possible they are not. Lela would appear to be a child of William & Margaret.

I have assigned Mary as sister to W. N. W. due to the fact that his mother is also living in the household. Mary's position i the census indicates she is not a child of W. N. W. so a sister is the most likely possibility.

Inherited the plantation his father had received from his father near Hamilton. In 1843 John Jordan Sherrod purchased adjoining land from Joshua Taylor and built the homeplace still standing one mile east of Hamilton. This house, because of its nearness to Ford Branch, served as headquarters for Confederate units and the surrounding fields as campgrounds for both the Rebels as well as Union troops during the Civil War. the plantation remained in the Sherrod family until 1950.

Mary SHERROD b.4 Mar.1790/91 place of residence Northampton Co.NC.Maury Co.TN. and Bond Co.IL. Mary (Sherrod) Sawrey, died 19 Sept 1868 Bond Co.IL. She was listed in the 1850 census Benton Co.AR.under Mary Lawry(sic)aged 60 born NC listed with her was son Mitchel aged 18, Mary was thought to be living in Benton Co.AR. because her brother Arthur Sherrod was living there, she also had brothers living in Washington Co.AR. The children of Henry and Mary (Sherrod) Sawrey were: Nancy Elizabeth Sawrey b.1808 Maury Co.TN. m. Robt. Armstrong Bond Co.IL. Thomas L.Sawrey b.12 Oct.1806 Maury Co.TN. m.
