Henry Hill to Steward Pipkin was proved by the oath of James Denton a witness thereto & ordered to be registered *************** *********** Northampton County, NC - Hardy Murfee deed to Steward Pipkin, 1792 Book 9 Page 184 1791 between Hardy Murfee of Hertford County & State of North Carolina of the one part and Steward Pipkin of Northampton County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Hardy Murfee for & in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy pounds Virginia money to me in hand paid by the said Steward Pipkin the receipt whereof doth acknowledge himself fully satisfied and contented and the said Hardy Murfee hath bargained and sold aliened & confirmed unto the said Steward Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever two hundred acres of land be the same more or less lying and being in the County of Northampton and State aforesaid which land was given to William Roberts to by his father Jonathan Roberts in his will and by the said William Roberts sold to the said Hardy Murfee as appears by a deed stated the third day of August 1739 joining the Lands of Samuel Cryer Nicholas Washington Mrs Carter lying on the turky swamp and main road and also the reversion & reversions & rents and services of the Land & every part and parcel thereon and estate right title and interest claims or demand whatsoever of him the said Hardy Murfee of in and to the land and premises and every part and parcel thereon together with all woods waters hereditaments and appurtenances to the said land belonging or appertaining to hold to the said Steward Pipkin his heirs and assigns that before containing hereof and the true sole and lawful owner of the above bargained premises and am fully possessed of the same as my own proper right a good lawful and absolute estate of inheritance in fee simple and the Steward Pipkin his heirs and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever hereafter by force and virtue of these presents have hold occupy and possess the said desired and bargained premises the appurtenances free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever & furthermore I the said Hardy Murfee for myself my heirs Extrs adms & do covenant and engage the above devised and bargained premises to him the said Steward Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim on demand of any person or persons for ever hereafter claiming by form or under them to secure warrant and defend, In Witness whereof I the said Hardy Murfee hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seat the day and year first above written Grafton (his X mark) Ireland, John (his X mark) Bue(?)yhan, John Parker Northampton County June Court 1792 This deed was proved by the oath of Grafton Ireland & ordered to be Registered Regis'd July the 6th 1792 Test E. Haynes CCA Test James Drury P Register ********************* ************ Chowan County, NC - Stewart Pipkin Court Case - 1757 Colonial Court Papers - Criminal Papers - Supreme Court Folder 5, 1757-1758 Isaac Williams late of the County of Chowan planter was summoned to answer Stewart Pipkin Keziah his wife of a plea that he tender to them three Negro Slaves of the Price of one hundred and ten pounds Lawfull Money of the Kingdom and whereupon the said Stewart and Keziah by Samuel Reddick their Attorney declare that __ they on this Tenth Day of January in the Year of our Lord Christ one thousand and seven hundred and fifty seven at Chowan County aforesaid was possessed of three Negro Slaves to wit __ of the price of sixty pounds __ of the Price of thirty Pounds __ of the price of Twenty Pounds as lawfull Money of Great Britian as of the Proper Estate Goods and Chattels and being so __ of possessed the the said Plaintifs the same Tenth Day January in the Year aforesaid and at the County afs Casually Covt the said three Negro slaves of the __ out of their hands and possession and the said Slaves of Price aforesaid afterwards to wit the Day and year aforesaid at the County aforesaid to the hands and possession of the said Defense by finding Came whereby the said Isaac then and now is in possession of the said Slaves of the Price aforesaid Nevertheless the said Isaac tho often required had not yet Delivered but hither to hath and still Doth Refuse to Deliver & now unjustly Detains the same whereupon the Plantiffs saith that they are Injured and Damage hath to the Value of Two Hundred Pounds lawfull Money of Great Britain and there fore he brings suit &c *********************** Lenoir County, NC - Survey for Elisha Pipkin, 1804 State of North Carolina Lenoir County by virtue of a Warrant No. 445, I have Surveyed a tract or parcel of land Containing one hundred and twenty three acres for Elisha Pipkin lying on the South side of Neuse River and on the West Side of panter Creek, Beginning at a pine on the North Side of the Road in or near Needham Whitfields line and runs Wt 30 pole to a pine on the South Side of the road and runs So 12 Wt 222 pole to a pine then So 71 E 87 Pole to a pine then a direct line to the Beginning October the 24th day 1804 ********************** Chowan County, NC - Steward & Kiziah Pipkin Deed, 1755 *************************** This Indenture made this sixth day of December in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and fifty five between Isaac Williams of the county of Chowan of the one part and Steward Pipkin of the same place of the other part. Witnessed: that the said Isaac Williams do give unto my daughter Kiziah Pipkin to her and her heirs lawfully begotten of her own body one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in Chowan County on the east side of Mills swamp to corner tree water oak at the old line a corner tree so running by a line marked trees to Mills swamp to corner tree water oak so running down the said swamp to the a corner gum so running along the old line to the corner tree where it first began containing by estimation sixty acres be it more or less together with all and singular the houses out houses barns building garden orchard fences improvements ways water wood timbers and trees whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining To have & to hold the before granted and bargained land or hereby intended to be bargained and granted land and premisis with every of the appurtenances together with all and singular the reversions & reversions and remainder rents issues & profite whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise belonging and from all patents deed conveyances ___ writings ornaments toutching the same and that will and sufficiently saved him self and indemnfiet and from all manner of charges in the law whatsoever, the quit rents issueing and becoming payable the Lord of free only excepted unto the said Steward Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever and the said Isaac Williams for himself his heirs extrs adm doth convenant and give unto my daughter Kisiah Pipkin to she and her heirs lawfully begotten of her own body in manner and form following that is to say the said Isaac the aforsd granted land & premises and to her my daughter Kiziah to her and her heirs lawfully begotten of her own body against the lawful or demand of all manner persons whatsoever claiming the same and will warrant and forever by these presents defend & further the said Isaac Williams his heirs extrs admr either of any of these shall and will at any time hereafter upon the reasonable request or cost and charge in the law of the said Steward Pipkin his heirs and assigns make and sign and seal or in due form of law execute all or any further or other deeds or conveyances in the law for the further assurance or more conveyance of the before granted and bargained land & premise as by them or either of them their or either of their council s ___ in the law shall be reasonably advised or devised. In witness whereof the said Isaac Williams hath hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal the day and year above written.
