Information about the family of Ida May Sherrodd was obtained from members ofthe above family, from the Douglas County Marriage Registers, and fromcemetery inscriptions.In a letter, written in 1964, Della Richards stated that Ida May Sherrodd "wasonly two years old when her mother died. Aunt Janie and my mother took careof her until she was old enough to stay at home and keep house for her father,who by that time had lost the second wife."During the 1920's Ida May (Sherrodd) and her second husband went to Californiatwice. The first time was for about a year and a half and the second time wasfor three years. They rented out the home place in Missouri and lived inPlacentia, Calif. During the second stay in Calif., Zella Taber died of anabcessed tooth. (Related by Roy Yates).
