Ida May Sherrod

Information about the family of Ida May Sherrodd was obtained from members of the above family, from the Douglas County Marriage Registers, and from cemetery inscriptions. In a letter, written in 1964, Della Richards stated that Ida May Sherrodd "was only two years old when her mother died. Aunt Janie and my mother took care of her until she was old enough to stay at home and keep house for her father, who by that time had lost the second wife." During the 1920's Ida May (Sherrodd) and her second husband went to California twice. The first time was for about a year and a half and the second time was for three years. They rented out the home place in Missouri and lived in Placentia, Calif. During the second stay in Calif., Zella Taber died of an abcessed tooth. (Related by Roy Yates).
