Susannah Llewelleyn
Notes for Susannah Llewellyn: From Records of Estates Edgecombe County, North Carolina 1761-1825 Vol I by David B. Gammon page 90 Clara Sutherland Petition (May,1813) for division by John Sutherland, admr. of the dec'd., who states that John Lewelling died testate in 1794 bequeathing certain furniture and Negroes to his wife for her lifetime with reversion to their five daughters at her death. Record indicates the wifow Mary Lewelling survived her husband fourteen years and her property wat to be divided amog her seven daughters, namely (1) Mary, now widow of Bejamin Bowers of Pitt CO., (2) Chloe, wife of William Bowers of Pitt Co., (3) Clara, wife of John Sutherland, who survived the said John who had died in 1801, (4) Charlotte wife of Arthur Staton, (5) Gracey, wife of John Mooring of Pitt Col, (6) Annis, wife of William Moore of Pitt Co. and (7) Susannah Mooring, now wife of Nathan Mayo. Mayo, Susannah, account of sale of negroes and division of the proceeds among the nine heirs, namely, Christopher Mooring, James Mooring, John L. Mayo, Susannah L. Mayo, Cullen Mayo, Lucinda Mayo, Edwin Mayo, Evelina Mayo, and Frances E. Mayo, Sept. 19, 1818. DB 15-429 page 116 John L. Mayo and Asa Mayo, 23 Mar 1816 Division of Real Estate and personal property by commissioners among Susannah L. Mayo. DB 17-312 Division of the real estate of Frederick Mayo, decd. between the lawful heirs, to wit, John L. Mayo and Susannah Ricks, wife of Elisha Ricks, March 24, 1821. Susannah Mayo and Elisha Ricks were married 29 Jan 1819.

Dr. John Watson Sherrod served as a surgeon during the Civil War with the Co. H, 8th Regiment NCST (1st Reg. N.C. Cavalry). He and his brother William Sherrod formed a partnership after the war and amassed large holdings of land in Eastern North Carolina. His only son, John Sherrod, died without children
