Selected Families and Individuals
Notes
Jefferson B. Butler
1830 Bryan Co, GA Federal Census:
His age is 20-30. The following other Butlers are also there. John (40-50), Jesse (40-50), and James (40-50). Notice, all are similar in age. All have names starting with 'J'. And all live relatively close together. I feel certain one of these is Jefferson's father and the other two are his father's brothers. There is also another John Butler near Jefferson's age. A brother perhaps?

John Harrison Shuman
This is an extrapolation based on the 1900 census in which wife, Sarah, states that she was married for 36 years.
Description: living with his father, mother, and siblings
John shows up on the 1880 census of Bryan Cty., Ga. using Harrison and living in a row with father, brother Frances, and brother Webster, and their families.
Sarah Ann Futch
Sarah's parents were in Bryan Co, GA for the 1830 census so I think it highly unlikely she was born in Liberty Co as other researches indicate. I suspect she was born in Bryan Co, GA.
In the 1900 census, Sarah states she was born in July 1834. She has had 3 children and all are living. Son, Maxwell, is not with her at that time, so has apparently gone elsewhere and probably married.
Sarah L. Shuman
In the 1900 census, Sarah, calles herself 'Sallie'.Apparently a nick name. She is 31 years old and single. She is not onthe 1870 Census with her parents so the birth date should probably bein the 1870's not 60's.
Maxwell O. Shuman
Maxwell is not on the 1870 census with his parents so hisbirth date is probably 1871 or 2 not 1869.

Francis B. (68) and Sarah (50) have been married for 35 years, have had thirteen children of whom seven are still living and currently have the following children at home: Braney(15), Dulsi(8), Francis B.(21) and grandchildren: Laura(5) and Leslie(7). The grandchildren are not Francis B. Jr.'s as he is too young ( he will die also in October) thus, since their name is Shuman, their father must be either James E., Shelton, or Sebastian.
Francis was a Mason
Celia Ann Butler
The Shuman Family Geneology by Earline Geiger, CarolynJarrard, Euna Mae Futch & Aileen Knaebel states that when she went tomilk the cow a vein in her leg burst.

Sarah Kesirah Shuman
Description: living with her parents and siblings
Francis B.(68) and Sarah(50) have been married for 35years, have had thirteen children of whom seven are still living andcurrently have the following children at home: Braney(15), Dulsi(8),Francis B.(21) and grandchildren: Laura(5) and Leslie(7).
Sarah(61) is now a widow and living with daughter,Dulcy(22). They live next door to Hartley Shuman and his family.
Sarah states in the 1900 census that she has had 8children and all are living.
Kesirah Shuman
I chose to put Kesirah with this family because of thesimilarity and unusual nature if the name and the fact that sisterMartha is buried there as well as Martin E. and wife Mrs. M.E.(Kesirah).
Annie Shuman
This is likely the Agnes Shuman in Corinth Cemetery in between other children of F. B. Shuman.
Tisler? Shuman
I strongly suspect this is the same child that was on the1880 census as un named and born about May 1880. This child may havebeen conceived by Francis and Sarah before the first wife was dead orbefore Sarah and Francis married. The then covered up the deed bychanging the birth dates of the children to make everything lookright.
Francis B. Shuman
I think this is the same Francis on the 1900 census onlythere it states his birth as March 1889.
