Audit and settlement of account with the money arising from the estate divided equally among the six heirs, to wit, the heirs of William Edmondson, Senr., the heirs of Penenelope Best, Pollard Edmondson, and James Hodges, Aug. 14, 1823, Nov. Notes for Pollard Edmondson: Edmondson, Pollard, inventory taken by William R. Long, admr., Nov. 25, 1823, Feb. Ct 1824. Account of sale held Dec. 18, 1823. Betsey Edmondson was the principal buyer and Thomas, Asa, Lemuel, Elias, John, and Alfred Edmondson bought. Account of rent of lands belonging to Pennelope Edmondson, orphan of Pollard Edmondson, decd. , May Ct. 1825. Account current with the admr. in which legacies were paid to Joseph Edmondson, to Joseph Edmondson as adm. for Louisea Edmonson, to Thomas Edmondson as guardian for John Edmondson, to James Downing as guardian for Eli Edmondson, to Lemel Edmondson, to Amos Edmondson, to Luke Norris for his wife Nelly, to James Edmondson, to John Raner, to Nicey Edmondson, to Elias Edmondson, to James Hodges, and possiably others. Audit and settlement of account, Nov. Ct. 1825. Division of Money and negroes by commissioners between the two heirs; namely Elizabeth Edmondson and Pennelope Edmondson, Dec. 16, 1825, Feb. Ct. 1826. Edgecombe County, NC - Petition for Dower-Harrell, Temperance-1903 EDGECOMBE COUNTY) Before the Clerk SUPERIOR COURT) TEMPERANCE HARRELL ) ) VS ) Petition for Dower ) J. H. HARRELL, ET AL.) To the Superior Court of Edgecombe County: The petition of Temperance Harrell, widow of William Harrell, deceased, respectfully showeth to the Court: That William Harrell, her said husband, died intestate on February 25th, 1903, domiciled in said County, leaving surviving him the following children: (1) John H. Harrell, (2) Amy Boyette, wife of Ferd. Boyette, (3) the children of his deceased son Thomas Harrell, to wit: Carrie Harrell married, W. B. Bradley, Lillian Waters, married Ed. Waters, and Tommy Harrell, the latter being a minor above 14 years of age, and without general guardian, (4) Jos. B. Harrell, (5) Geo. W. Harrell, (6) Mac G. Harrell, (7) Caswell Harrell, (8) Mary Francis Harrell, married W. M. Savage, (9) The children of his daughter, Alice Harrell, who married Jno. B. Cummings, and died leaving William Cummings, Richard Cummings and Benjamin Cummings, as her only children and heirs at law, and they are minors without general guardian. That the said William Harrell was seized and possessed in fee simple at the time of his death of the following real estate, to wit: A tract of land in said County, adjoining the lands of R. M. Mayo, F. M. Leigh, W. G. W. Leigh, Mrs. Geo. W. Harrell, Mrs. Mary A. Saunders and others, containing 223 acres, more or less, and on which he resided at the time of his death. Your Petitioner desires to have her dower in said lands allotted to, and to that end prays the Court to issue a writ to the Sheriff of said

David Mayo

Notes for David Mayo: From the information available at this time, I do not believe David Mayo to be the son of William and Judith. Aug., 2000 David is believed to have been born about 1755 but he could have been born earlier, since I believe this was made on the assumption that David was the son of William Mayo and his wife Judith who later married Hilliary Manning. From: "Edgecombe County Will Abstracts 1824-1857" pg 65 (274) David Mayo 25 Feb 1832 Fec Ct 1834 O F/154 "....being in a decline of health..." To Levi Mayo, Negro Berry aged twenty years. To Martha Brown, bed and life estate in Negro Pegga, and if she leaves and heir this Negro shall fall to that heir, otherwise it shall return to Elizabeth, Lizer and Lydia WILKERSON, my grandchildren. Daughter Lucy LAWRENCE, $600. Wife Sarah MAYO, lend Negroes Tom, Henry, Rose, Wilson, Lemuel, Vina, and Julan, and at her death they are to be sold and proceeds divided between Levi Mayo, Pegga Harrell, Martha Leewis, Lucy Lawrence, Martha Brown, Elizabeth, Lizer and Lydia Wilkerson.
