Notes
John Martin Shuman
Sherry Boresen Sullivan gives his birth date as abt 1808 in Effinham Co, GA. That's makes him 16 when he got married. Seems a bit young. I'll stick with 1802 for now. However, his father lived all his life in Effingham Co so far as I can determine. Thus it would appear far more likely he was born there than in Bryan Co.
1830 Bryan Co, GA Federal Census:
John is living beside William and Faithy Shuman. He is 20-30 years old. Wife Sally is not listed. He is alone.

Bottom of Form 2 I found your family tree posting in Roots Web site. There you had John T. Shuman married to Nella A. Loper about 1870 in Effingham Co. GA. Nella Alberta Loper was my grandmother. She was his 1st wife. Did you know they had a child? They did. I met him when I was a child. He was my mothers brother. Would like to talk with you. Nancy

Becky, I have a correction it was James T Shuman that was married to Nella Alberta Loper. Their son was Benjamin Franklin. He was raised as a Loper by his grandparents. Nella was 30 years old when she married my grandfather. Please contact me. I would like your info if possible. Uncle Ben's granddaughter would be interested in his ancestors....Nancy
