Paul Bryon Caldwell
Paul Bryan Caldwell enlisted in the US Navy, January 21, 1941 at Klamath Falls, Klamath Co. Or. for an enlistment of 6 years. He completed his basic training and a Fire Control School at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, CA.Was then assign to the Light Cruiser, USS Phoenix, on station at Pearl Harbor, HI. Paul was aboard this ship in Pearl Harbor during the Japanese bombing on 7 December 1941. During his assignment on this ship, the ship was in the battles of the Java Sea, Coral Sea and Philippines. The ship was also in on 7 island invasions and 17 island bombardments. Paul was sent to New Jersey for Officer's Candidate School. Was relieved of the duty due to missing one color chart during an eye exam. Paul was then assigned to the USS Okalussa(APA 219), the vessel was on station at the battle of Okinawa.

He married Ann Caldwell on March 10, 1946, in Lovington,N.M. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteren of World War II.He was a member ofColonial Hill Baptist Church, and he attended the Early Men's Bible Class.He was a fishing tool operator, and he worked for HOMCO and Consolidated formany years. He retired in 1992. He was a fishing consultant for Pennzoil in theSACROC unit.Survivors include his wife; a daughter Gayle Coberly of Atoka, Tenn.; two sonsDavid of Snyder and Robbie of Midland; two sisters, Virginia Foster and MarieNash, both of Naples; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.****Additions and Corrections in the obituary were made by Gayle Coberly. RobertThenius Lovelady died at home. He died in his sleep. Marie Nash is the daughterof Rev. George Fletcher Lee 2nd husband of Mary Edna Logwood. She is thestepsister of Robert T. and Virginia Scott Lovelady. Two of the grandchildrenare Melanie and Courtney Carpenter daughters of David Lovelady's 2nd wife,Marsha Crowder.*****

Who all called her Granny.Since she was married to a Baptist Minister, she made her home, manyplaces. She made all these a special place to live. She was a lovingwith a sense of humor that was rare.
