Notes

Sarah Jane Shuman

On the 1900 census, there is a G.H. Gray married to Sarah.Could it be this Sarah? They live in a group of four other Shumanfamilies and a family of Grays, W. S. Gray who married Georgia.Probably brothers.

George Emerick Shuman

Emerick -G(35) and Vactara(28) have been married for 17years and have had six children of whom four are still living. Theyare with them now; Bessie M.(14), Zella(9), Grafy H.(6), andCreola(4). The census taker really butchered this one though we dolearn George's middle name. Obviously, Victoria did not get married ateleven so the age isn't even close and the names of the last twochildren make very little sense.

Emerick(48) and Victoria(37) are now with childrenGrady(15), Creola(13), and Gilbert(6). They also own their farm freeand clear.

In the 1900 census George and family live next to brotherWilliam who is next to Mom and Pop.
