Jane Durden
1830 Twiggs Co, GA Federal Census:
62 26 Durden, Jane: living next to Richard M. Durden (age 20/30) who is probably another son.
2 White Males 10 to 15 (Samuel & Henry)
1 White Male 15 to 20 (Benjamin)
1 White Female 5 to 10
1 White Female 20 to 30
1 White Female 40 to 50 (Jane, abt 44 years old)
1 Male Slave 10 to 24
2 Female Slaves 10 to 24
1 Female Slave 36 to 25
It appears that Jane's husband was dead at the time of this census which would imply that she was probably pregnant with James at this time (he is 30 on the 1850 census) thus her husband would have died in 1829/1830. It may also be that he was simply not living with her at the time.
