1870 Emanuel Co, GA Federal CEnsus:
William is on visit 82. He is 60 and living with his wife Eliza(57) and children John W.(25), Sarah(20), Elizabeth(17), and Noah(15). The are right next door to nephew Greene. William's brother Benjamin is 2 doors down.
Living next to William is Benetta Johnson (35), BenjaminW.(40) and children Rowan(17), Josiah(14), and Lucy(11). Benjamin is not listed as head of the house so I suspect he is disabled, probably from the Civil War. I think Benetta is the sister of William and Benjamin as the name is uncommon and the physical proximity coupled with that makes it very likely she is their sister.

Description: though the census of 1860 says 1824, this seems unlikely as she would have been only about 8 when their first child was born. More likely, it is about 1814

Charlie N. Sherrod
1880 Emanuel Co, GA Federal Census:
Charlie is staying with the family of John H. Brinson. He gives his age as 18 here and is a millhand. His father and siblingsare in Bulloch Cty., GA.
1900 Bryan Co, GA Federal Census:
Charlie is at the home of John J. Lewis where he is listed as a boarder. His parents live six houses away. He also states he is and has been married for 12 years. Charlie's wife is not living with him so where is she? He does not indicate himself to be a widower so she must be living. Is John J. Lewis her father or perhaps she stayed in Emanuel Cty. and Charlie came to establish himself in Bryan Co.
1910 Emanuel Co. GA Federal Census:
Charlie is living with a new wife, Susie whom he married in 1908. They have no children.
Susie is twenty nine years old.
1920 Emanuel Co, GA Federal Census:
Charlie(63) and Susie(40) are now the parents of Mildred (1yr., 6 mos.)

On the 1910 Census of Emanuel Cty., Charlie is livingwith a new wife, Susie whom he married in 1908. They have no children.
