This extrapolation is based on the 1920 census of BryanCty., GA. wherein Carl(42) is married to Ella(36). They have thefollowing children: Ruby(14), Willie(18, stepson), Joseph(14,stepson), Carrie(2 yr., 4 mo.), Ronella(8 mo.) There is a large agedifference between the first three and the last two children. I feelthe first three must be fron her first marriage and the second arefrom her union with Carl. This would imply that they married in late1916 or early 1917. The first three children apparently are also named"Shuman". This could just be convenient or may indicate they wereactually adoped by Carl or more likely, I feel, Ella was married toanother Shuman before Carl.

Butler andfamily who have a servant, Benjamin Shuman, a 49 year old white male.There ought to be a connection here but it has so far escaped me.
Next to them is Thomas's sister, Siniah, and her husband,James H. Blair and in the next house is broth Wade Hampton.

On the 1910 census, we find that Julia had been marriedtwice and only two children were born of that union, thus Minnie mustbe the child of Julia and her first husband, hence, he must have diedbefore the first child of Julia and Ollie was born.
