Milford is living with wife, Martha(34) and children;Sallie M.(2) and Mary E.(3 mo). He is a millhand and 27 years old
Where he is 45 years old and a farmer. His farm is ownedfree and clear and is #41 on the 'farm schedule'. Milford was born inJan. 1855 and is living with wife Mattie(59, July 1840) and children;Mary(21, March 1879), Willie a daughter(16, March 1884), and daughterClaudia(12, Jan. 1888).
On the 1880 census, Milford is married to Martha who issix years older than he is. On the 1900 census, he is married toMattie who is 15 years older than he. In addition, they tell thecensus enumerator that they have had no children even though there arethree children there. This must mean that Martha died (probably justafter 1888 as the last child was born in Jan. 1888. At some timethereafter, Milford married Mattie.
Now, on the 1910 census, Martha(61) is a widow with onlydaughter, Claudie(19) remaining.
She has had four children and all are still living.

Where she is 59 years old and a farmers wife. Their farmis owned free and clear and is #41 on the 'farm schedule'. Martha iscalled Mattie on this census and was born in July. 1840 and is livingwith husband Milford(45, Jan. 1855) and children; Mary(21, March1879), Willie a daughter(16, March 1884), and daughter Claudia(12,Jan. 1888).
Now Martha(61) is a widow with only daughter, Claudie(19)remaining.
She has had four children and all are still living.
Mattie, now 72, is living with her daughter, Claudie, andher family.

John(41) and Dicy(37) have the following children still athome: Rachal(15), Eliza(13), Nancy(12), John(3), and William(4 mo).The name was spelt Sheord this time.

1870 Emanuel Co, GA Federal Census:
John gives his age as 55 on this census (implying a birth date of abt 1815). He is a farmer and living with wife Dicy (45), and children John P. (10), William P. (8), Benjamin L. (6), Dicy (5), and James (2). Also on the farm are the following black people: Mariah(30), Council (10, a black male), Eliza(9), Abraham (6), Jefferson (5), Eller (1, a black female), Lidda COPPOCK (22), Aron COPPOCK (18, born in SC), and Florence COPPOCK (5). All are listed as farm labor.
John and his family have their daughter Rachel and her husband Thomas Walea on one side of them and another Walea family (Elijah's) on the other side of them. Next to Rachel and Thomas lives Thomas's mother Elizabeth.

1880 Emanuel Co, GA Federal Census:
John(63) is farming with wife Dicy (56), and children; John (27), William (19), Benjamin (15), Dicy(14), James (10). There is also a black servant, 10yr. old Emmet Sanv---. The first three daughters are not with the family on this census, so are probably married and living with their husbands.

Rachael is listed as 7 years old. This visit is # 82. Atvisit #75 is Thomas Walea(9) who will become her husband in 1865.

Notes for J. D. LAWRENCE:
One day he saddled his horse to go see his girlfriend in Emanuel Co. His mother begged him not to go, but he went anyway. A thunderstorm came up and his horse threw him which caused his death.

Onia has had 8 children and all are alive and living with them at this time.

She is a farmer's wife and they own the land and housefree and clear. It is #46 on the 'farm schedule'. With her are husband, J.P.(47) and children; Frank (18), Grady? (10), Jahud? (8-f),Mosell (7-f), Joseph A.(6), John H.(4), Liala?(3-f), and William(1). Onia has had 8 children and all are alive and living with them at this time.
She and Jacob Futch separated before the birth of their son, Benjamin Franklin Futch. She returned to her parents' home and resumed her maiden name.

Noah(65) has married again. This time to a woman thirty years younger. Annie(35) was apparently married before also as they now have three children with them. These must be Annie's children by her previous husband as Noah and Josephine has no children and these are too old to be those of Noah and Annie. The children are Wilburn(13), Maggie L.(11), and -sh?(7). From this data we can deduce that Noah married Annie after 1913. The children's last names are not given. This may mean they are already "Sherrod" or that Noah has adopted them or it may have just been an oversight on the part of the enumerator.
