My GG grandfather was Granville Sherrod, born near Nashville 8 May, 1859, died in Lubbock, TX 29 Jan 1937. He married Mary Elizabeth Cates. I have been unable to confirm anyone past him though there is a possibility he is the son of John or Jack Sherrod and Annie Cook. I found a 10 yr.old G.J.,son of J. Sherrod in the 1870 TN census. I don't know if this is Granville or not. Can anyone help me with Granville's parents, grandparents, etc?
