Johannis De Spottyswod

A considerable figure in the reign of King David Bruce (David II) of Scotland, and appears to have been in great favor with that prince, being witness in many of his charters and other deeds. He built a house of worship, at the old tower of Spottiswoode, called the White Chapel. Also an altar-vase, at St. James' Church in Roxburgh. Mentioned as Constabulary of Haddington, 16 May, 1374. David Lindsay

David was the Rt. Rev. David Lindsay, Bishop of Ross in 1600.
