Joel Parrish

Joel was a captain in the Revolution.
On August 8, 1778, Samuel Fuller deeded to Joel Parrish, 370 acres of land "for the love and affection of his daughter Rhoda Parrish, wife of Joel Parrish....." Samuel Huckaby witnessed this deed as did Joel Parrish witness the deed to Huckaby. William Johnson who married another Spivey girl and hence the uncle of Lydia and Rhoda witness both deeds.Recorded in DB-7, page 204 of Bute (Franklin) Co., NC deedbooks.

William L. Astin

William was the son of Revolutionary War soldier Robert Astin and washimself in the War of 1812. For this service William drew land in CowetaCo. in 1832.
