Unknown Lamb

This is an extrapolation from the 1920 census of EmanuelCty., GA where Mr. Lamb's wife, Gay Sherrod is living with her parentsand claims to be a widow. The eldest child is seven indicating theywere married about 1912 and the youngest child is three indicatingthat Mr. Lamb died after 1917 but before the census was taken.

William Frank Sherrod

Description: living with his father, mother, and siblings

Frank is living with brother Ivan?(20, b. 3-1880), sisterBetsy(13, b. 9-1886), sister --?--(11, b. 8-1888), sister ---?---Parker(14, b. 10-1882(age should be 18), sister Alice(8 mo, b.9-1899), and grandmother Mary Kirkland (69, b. 1-1831). This indicatesthat Frank's father married an unknown 'Kirkland' whose mother wasMary Kirkland. One of Frank's sisters married a gentleman named Parkerin 1898 and has had a child, probably Alice even though she is markedas a sister on the census. Frank was born in 1877 indicating hisparents most likely married before 1877. They should thus be on the1880 census.
Going to the 1880 Census, we find James, IRN 2138, andAlice with son William F. born about 1876.
Going to the 1870 census, we find James is not with hisfamily. I don't know where he was yet. However, Alice Kirkland andmother, Mary are just 25 houses away from James' parents. So, Alice.the wife of James appears to be Alice Kirkland.

There is a Frank on the 1910 census of Emanuel Cty., butbecause the age is exactly correct, I chose it to be William FrankSherrod, IRN 804. The other possibility was IRN 2326. This Frank is 33years old and Married to Rachel(28) since 1901. they have had fourchildren and all are with them now: Pauline(7), Clowie(6), Hugh(4) andEarl(2).

From Dan and Frances Eidson (see data sheet) we getconformation that my choice on the 1910 census was correct as hestates that his mother was Cleo Sherrod Moon Eaison, born Mar. 17,1904 in Emanuel Cty., GA. died Dec. 5, 1987. She was born and raisedin Swainsboro, Emanuel Cty., GA. Her parents were William FrankSherrod (1877-1964) and Rachael Moody Sherrod (1882-1970). Both werefrom Emanuel Cty., GA. The "Moon" part of her name has probably beenmisplaced and was actually her middle name before she married.
