Mattie Lou Sherrod

Obituary in Covington Leader: The home of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Sherrod, of this vicinity, was visited by a great affliction at 4 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, when their beloved daughter, Miss. Mattie Lou Sherrod, aged fourteen years, died from peritonitis, after a week's illness. The burial occurred at Munford Cemetery at 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, the burial services being conducted by Elder Trice of the Christian Church of Ripley, of which church the deceased was a member. The passing away of this sweet, lovely and promising girl was indeed a great blow to her devoted parents, and a great shock to her many friends in the community, and the deepest sympathy of everybody goes out to the afflicted family in their great sorrow and bereavement.
