Wilbur O. Futch places his birth as about 1780 but I'll stick with 1775 for now.
Thomas was granted land in 1805 in Bryan Co, GA and his name appears on registrants of the1805 Georgia Land Lottery in Land-Grant Records of Bulloch Co. Som e researchers say he moved to Marion Co, MS about 1812. On April 11, 1811 the Governor of issued passports thru Georgia for Thomas Futch and James Tilman from Bulloch County, to travel through the Creek Nation of Indians.

Thomas or John, as he was often called, and his wife are with one male 60-70, one female 50-60, one female 10-15, one female 15-20 and eighteen slaves. Thomas was called John by family members, hense they called their son named John by the name of Jack.

Isaac Futch is listed as tax-defaulter in Liberty Co, GA for 1802 and 1803. This probably means he had moved out of the county and they did not know where.
