John Futch
John is listed in the military on 12 Nov 1747 in North Carolina as a member of Topsail Military Company, along with William Futch, his brother. And like William he is shown on tax list of 1763 of North Carolina. The Colony of North Carolina Abstracts and Land Patents on page 110 record 654, list JACOB WELLS bought 100 acres in Duplin Co between Wells Land and JOHN FUTCHE, on February 23, 1754. Also Jacob Wells is shown as bondsman to a marriage of Frederick Boon and Mary Futch (whi is she?) on April 16, 1805 in North Carolina. He Granted Land on 22 Oct 1762 in New Hanover Co, NC. John is recorded on a New Hanover land grant, October 22, 1762 for a total of 500 acres. And also shown on land grants in New Hanover Co, NC, April 13, 1780 for 158 acres, and November 28, 1818 for 100 acres. He appeared on the census in 1800 in South Carolina. He appears to be the same John Futch shown on the 1800 census of South Carolina and died on 22 Oct 1826 in Bulloch CO, GA. He had an estate probated in 1828 in New Hanover Co, NC.
